Inception

Leonardo freaks out Ellen Page for 145 minutes straight as a corporate thief who steals ideas by infiltrating dreams.

Casey's Take: I'm soo excited for this movie I'm going to post several takes.  Here they are . . .

Casey's Take #1 - What happens when you take every decent brunette actor/actress in Hollywood, throw in some Michael Caine as the elderly "guide" character, and have Christopher Nolan ejaculate awesome all over everything?  Inception

Casey's Take #2 - ((Matrix + James Bond) (The Prestige)) - Dumb = Inception

Casey's Take #3 - Urban Dictionary Word of the Day -  Inception
Inception (n.) - Sex with a drunk or passed out significant other, usually resulting in them waking up halfway through and generally be ok with the whole thing to finish the job and get back to sleep.
Ex.   I had too many glasses of wine at dinner and next thing I know Billy's all over me during Inception.  It was his Birthday and I didn't have to be at work till 10 so it all worked out for the best.

Have better definitions for Inception?  Leave 'em in the comments!

The Sorcerer's Apprentice

Nic Cage and "The Bastard Child of Jason Biggs and DJ Qualls" team up to shove 150 minutes worth of Bruckheimer down our throats in his 2nd bid to turn a short Disney cartoon into a billion-dollar franchise.  What? You're angry I don't describe the plot?  Do you remember the plot of the original Sorcerer's Apprentice?  Mickey steals the Sorcerer's wand since he's lazy and everything goes haywire.  Look at this trailer and let me know if any of it makes sense  .  . . . .

Casey's Take:  An increasingly homeless looking Nic Cage tells some loser he has to fight Alfred Molina and Disney makes more fun of Asians somehow.  "Betta not bring yo' kids!"

Twilight:  Eclipse

Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

Casey's Take:  Y'know that love letter you wrote to your 9th-grade crush that poured out the contents of your heart and feelings through your ever tightening chest when you should have been reading excerpts of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's "100 years of Solitude", only to be followed by masturbating through tears to Widespread Panic when you realized that the current "love of your life" liked the guy with the car and the dirty apartment who bought her friends beer?  Yea this movie is what would happen if they turned your letter into a screenplay.  Enjoy.

Much Ado About Lebowski - Presented by the Screwheads! - June 24th - June 27th, 2010

If you're a Cohen Brothers fan, you're going to dig this live production, happening June 24th - 27th at CELLspace in SOMA. From the newsletter from the folks behind the production, check out the details below:

"Hey Screwheads Fans!

It's that time of year again for the Screwheads to cause some havoc and trouble.  This year, though, we're going to do it with a little class.

We're taking the basic 16th century Comedy of Errors idea, adding characters from the Cohen Brothers' movies Raising Arizona and The Big Lebowski, made it so these characters speak in a classic Elizabethan language and what we got is this zany mishmash comedy we like to call:

MUCH ADO ABOUT LEBOWSKI.

A live staged parody about a man named Sir Geoffery of Lebowski, who lived a simple, humble life until the day he was mistaken for Geoffery of Lebrowski.  On that day, one man's quiet life turns into utter chaos full of kidnappings, escaped prisoners, rug peeing, theatrical porn, and a severed toe.

You'll also see:

-Live Minstrels playing classic songs
-A Dancing Greek Chorus
-Bowling Balls
-A bar serving White Russians
-And Squirting Blood (Hey, we're the Screwheads, got to have some blood.)
